Dr. Lauren Outland, renowned personal coach has
been quoted in Redbook, First for Women, and Fitness
magazines. As an expert in spiritual and personal
growth, she has written articles for The Jewish
Journal, and the Palisadean Post. In demand as a
speaker, she gives workshops and lectures in the
greater Los Angeles for groups, such as, UCLA-Research
and Education Institute, Planned Parenthood, and
Co-opportunity.
Lauren has a unique ability to find the obstacles
that hold people back from realizing whatever
they long for, and the resources to get free of
these obstacles. In coaching sessions she thoroughly
and systematically figures out the obstacles,
and then helps clients find spiritual and practical
tools to dramatically increase their energy and
power and get the lives they want.
Starting her healing career as a midwife 15
years ago, she moved into
to academia, teaching and doing research for more
than eight years. Earning a doctorate in public
health at UCLA, allowed her to formally study
psychological obstacles to health and well-being.
Drawing from Psychology, Anthropology and Medicine,
she tested her own thesis on stress and illness,
and came to appreciate the devastating role of
trauma on a person’s well-being.
In these studies, Lauren also saw that some people
were able to live well in spite of past trauma.
She saw that some individuals were able to live
truly abundant lives, physically as well as spiritually
and financially. Dr. Lauren wanted to understand
the phenomenon of overcoming obstacles more clearly.
But she wanted to do this in the context of connecting
with people, not from an ivory tower.
In 1999, Inner Resource was born as a way to
help people free themselves from obstacles to
health, including healthy weight (www.effortlessweightcontrol.com),
and fertility. Throughout the building of this
business, Lauren was dedicated to developing the
most effective and efficient programs possible.
Taking a continuous stream of courses in intuition,
Ericksonian hypnosis, spirituality, and trauma
resolution helped her hone the approach used in
Life by Design.
