Gay and Kathlyn Hendricks, best-selling therapists and authors, say that as an adult, "You are 100% responsible for creating your reality". I say, "Wow." That's a pretty wild concept. What do you think? Is it hard to believe?

It was hard for me at first, but then when I considered that at any particular minute I actually had thousands of options in front of me, it was easier to see my role in creating reality. Over the course of a year, that means literally millions of different paths I might have taken. Millions of different choices for my reality.

And yet instead of focusing on what we can choose, so many of us get stuck in what we can't control. Whether it's another person who gives us grief, or the unknown of a natural disaster, or even the chaos of our health. Anxiety and obsessing over what we can't control often means we miss the lovely path we could be taking.

I remember learning in Kabbalistic Torah study, that there is chaos in the material world, but that we can infuse a divine process when we interact with it. We just have to listen to find the inspired path. The key is feeling serene and content enough to listen to our options.

Many religions and therapies have their own recommendations on how to listen. I have found that simply maximizing six different energies is extremely helpful toward this end. It helps us focus on what we can do, takes us away from the angst of a poor outcome, and gives us confidence in ourselves.

You are in charge of your own energy, and when you take concrete steps to maximize it, an amazing empowerment flows through you. You get positive reinforcement for focusing on what you can do. You give up trying to control what you can't.

For example, let's say you have a business partner who is always late. As unfortunate as that may be, as irked as it might make potential clients, her lateness is her business. Unless you are ready to walk out the door, you will get much more mileage focusing on how you can maximize Creation Energy to improve the service that you offer.
